It looks like this person is really going to impact your life (or you’re going to impact someone else’s life) and not on a nice way at all. Seems like there’s a lesson, a real big one to learn about codependency and toxicity. Probably to work out in your most deeper issues like fear of abandonment, jealousy, manipulation, and to stop allowing any type of abuse or to stop doing that yourself thinking about it as something normal or as “true love”. It’s unclear which one of you is going to or it could be both of you too.

But I think there’s a chance for you to avoid all of that by starting to work on yourself asap and to learn more about how to identify the red flags more easily and faster.

The cards are yelling YO DUMP THIS FUCKBOY

I wish I was kidding or poking fun at a trope, but that’s actually what they’re saying. This person shows up as mister perfect, is actually a total mess, enables your worst behavior while trying to drag you down with him, yet also is triggering some core relationship needs in an idealized way, but it’s insubstantial so it causes you nothing but stress and grief.

My interpretation is a little different than what I’ve been reading in the comments. For a little background, I love the tower card. It is my favorite card in the tarot deck because to me it represents a change that IMO is needed for the mind/perception/thoughts. The relationship has a love offering. I think the tower and devil are representative of you and your past relationships and this person is very different. I think your trust issues, feelings of not being deserving, and overextending yourself to prove your worthiness will be worked through with this relationship. I’m not saying it will be easy, but communicate how you feel no matter how vulnerable you think you will be. I think this person is open and patient. Many blessings to you on this new journey and hope that it will be filled with lots of love, laughter, and light 🙂

You’re starting out well balanced, doing a good job of handling emotional ups and downs, then bam! The Tower…. dunno what kind of change or cataclysm it might indicate but yikes, leading you to the Devil isn’t a happy situation… but of course, you have the power to slip the bonds and make your own choices, leading you out of anxiety, away from a nightmare.

I sincerely wish you the best.

I let 5 cards slip out for an intended love reading. I was asking my guides to help me understand if i should focus on myself or someone else.

Knight of cups- This person is compassionate, they are romantic and I take them seriously. Someone I’m able to respect & someone who is guided by their intuition & morals. Charismatic and passionate about their beliefs.

the tower- gosh, I guess this might backfire on me but for the better. It’ll be a reality check forsure.

The devil- codependency within the relationship, bonds i need to free myself. Obsession or even detrimental foundations for the relationship.

The lovers- possibly a toxic lover? Two opposites.

9 of swords (reversed)- releasing stress maybe even from a partner? I’m in disbelief.

    Rider waite tarot deck.

For me, I think the cards are telling you that you can be susceptible to smooth talkers and guys that come off as romantic but can be a little narcissistic or toxic, and to be mindful of it when choosing a partner otherwise things could be detrimental. I don’t see this as a negative love reading, but a warning about the type of guy you need to avoid.

Knight of Cups: I don’t always find the Knight of cups that positive. Sure, he’s romantic and smooth but he doesn’t lay down foundations and isn’t serious. To me sometimes he comes off as a love bomber or has potential to be flaky, or to be a bit fake. This type of person may come into your life and you need to keep this in mind.

The Tower: if you progress with this love offer from this smooth talking Knight of cups type, it could be a disaster. It might shatter your self worth.

The Devil: in this reading, I feel like there would be a codependent relationship, and could also signify emotional abuse from a narcissist who love bombed you and intends to keep you trapped.

The Lovers: to me this card tells you will need to make a choice between your self worth and own happiness or this type of lover that may enter your life. The cards are telling you, if you choose to be with this kind of guy and fall for his charms, you might be very unhappy. It’s a warning but also suggests you have free will to leave whenever.

Nine of swords (reversed) – you can avoid this type of situation by being mindful of the lover you are with. There is hope for the future and you can definitely avoid the anxiety you would see in a non-reversed nine of cups.

    Hope this helps!

I hesitate to read tarot for anything other than personal introspection or meditation, but heres my take on this. Which might be kinda vague because I don’t know you or your circumstances.

You have a lot of major arcana so there are lots of things that are beyond your control or where you have no input save for your response.

Your relationship will involve someone (or something) that’s intensely passionate and appealing. Something that builds over a moderate period of time. (Knight of cups)

You will experience something that changes how you think forever for better or worse. Ie, pregnancy, personal discoveries, a death, a new family acquisition, a change is gender or sexuality etc.(Tower)

There will be either obsessions that are unproductive at best. Bad vibes and habits that need some serious consideration. Actually serious consideration in general because it may also refer to a kinky or otherwise very unorthodox lifestyle. (Devil.)

Decisions will likely need to be made as you look over and examine all your relationships past and present and think on the ones to come (like your partners family.) it will be an important decision as to how you progress and will likely involve your partner. (Lovers)

It will suck and you will probably stress out over it. A lot. And only some of it will be warranted. (9 of swords)

I hesitate to straight up say the cards are pointing out that someone is toxic without feed back from the other person because bdsm is definitely a thing. But i strongly suspect you’ve got some serious decisions and considerations to make either way.

Tldr: either a toxic/ unproductive relationship or one involving kinks and voluntary restrictions which will affect your day to day life or mentality. Either way. Grab a notebook and start taking notes.

I guess this spread has a Lacanian interpretation of love.

There’s a lot of suffering, pain, chaos, and that’s all because of your personal yearnings to fill an emptiness. This is normal TBH

Anytime I get the tower card, it is a breakup or job loss or death or some other drastic change that uproots my life in a very necessary, but painful, way. If you asked for a love reading…hmm. I’d be prepared for a break-up. Idk if you are in a relationship, but that’s what I am seeing.

Knight of cups is first, though, so that will likely be the cause of the break-up. If you don’t meet a literal person, you will be presented with new ideas about love. Cups are always emotions and love, and here we have the knight (usually the assertive herald of new experiences) offering a cup.

Then, after the tower is The Devil. That is probably expected after a break-up. I’d guess that things will be tumultuous as you navigate a world without your ex. A lot of problems will arise and need to be worked through.

But then, The Lovers! Will it be with your ex, or a new lover? Hmmm. Either this painful change will force you to work on issues and move forward with your current lover, or you will find new love that will only be possible after a break-up.

Finally, you won’t be losing sleep or feeling regret for your decision. That’s good. After going through something difficult, at least you will feel confident that you’re in the right place.

That is just my at-a-glance two cents. I always view spreads as suggestions. Is there any advice here that you could go ahead and heed? Do you feel like you need to overhaul or end a romantic relationship right now?

Someone will come in your life and this person will look appealing to you. But whatever you and this person has is built on a weak foundation. You will be too attached to this person, will find great chemistry. But this person isn’t good news. You will be seeking help to get over him/her

My new word for people I don’t like is Nine of Swords. Worst card in the draw.

A perfect example of why you should never read for yourself. You mistake the stars reflected in a pond at night, for those in the sky.
