GuestJanuary 30, 2023 at 12:00 amI’ve always recommended to start with Scott Cunnigham’s [Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner](https://cdn.preterhuman.net/texts/religion.occult.new_age/Magick/Wicca,%20a%20Guide%20for%20the%20Solitary%20Practitioner.pdf). Even if you aren’t personally following the Wiccan path (as neither am I), it’s a great introductory resource and covers most aspects of witchcraft.
Of course, take the words in any resource with a grain of salt. In particular, may this one help you find your path and lead you onto further research!!!
Additionally: Robin Wall Kimmerer’s [Braiding Sweetgrass](https://g.co/kgs/UsXTPM) and Arin Murphy-Hiscock’s [The Green Witch](https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_Green_Witch/vkk1DwAAQBAJ?hl=en). BB 🙂

GuestJanuary 30, 2023 at 12:00 amI would say that the most often recommended book on the sub right now is Mat Auryn’s [*Psychic Witch: A Metaphysical Guide to Meditation, Magick & Manifestation*](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/45901734-psychic-witch).
I think it would be an excellent place to start out.

GuestJanuary 30, 2023 at 12:00 amTo save money, see if you can buy the book used (Amazon has that option, and lots of good used sites). Or, buy a PDF or ebook version to read on your laptop or phone. Usually those are very cheap instead of $20-30.

GuestJanuary 30, 2023 at 12:00 amThis is a great video from a seasoned witch (even though she looks super young). It’s a good break down, also to figure out what you’re into:
https://youtu.be/Tv1hCH0UrLwIf the link doesn’t work, the video is called ‘Beginner Witchcraft Books : traditional witchcraft, ceremonial magick and modern witchcraft. By Hearthwitch on YouTube. I have read both The Crooked Path and The Psychic Witch from her list and loved them.

GuestJanuary 30, 2023 at 12:00 amThriftbooks.com is a great resource that I use. I get used books for $4 or less. Keep in mind that witchcraft is trendy right now so many times they only have new books, but it’s still a few bucks cheaper. And free shipping to the US.
