So today I did an energising spell, which basically entailed of me writing down my intentions and burning it with herbs, and I was supposed to keep the ashes, but it produced a lot of smoke, and since I’m living in an apartment I had to put it out with water. I still have some of the ashes, but they’re soggy, and some of them went down the drain. I asked one of my home guardians with my pendulum wether this was a bad thing, but they just said maybe. So my question is, can the spell still work, and if not, can it backfire?

In my opinion, backfires only happen with a baneful working. With other spells, what usually happens is nothing. As in, it fizzles, and there is no affect at all.

It could be that you get a burst of energy for whatever task only for you to just as quickly lose all motivation/energy towards said task. If you’re really that worried about it, undo it, or ground the incoming energy so it doesn’t touch you

Take the soggy ashes and spread them on a cookie sheet to air dry. They’ll be fine, and so will you.

In my experience, this is a learning curve. This approach did not work. Nothing bad comes of it unless you have a very ratcheted up, jerky response. That draws up some chaotic negative energy that will sap whatever good you’ve got going your way. Try another approach and be graceful in your approach (either burn them outside) or figure out a better (more workable) approach. For example, I save my intentions in a jar to burn at a specific fire festival fire.
