CharlesParticipantWhat do you think are the main differences in:
Moon in Cancer vs Moon in 4th
Moon in Scorpio vs Moon in the 8th
Moon in Pisces vs Moon in the 12hFor example
Do you think a Scorpio Moon is much more open about feelings than a moon in 8th house? -

GuestFebruary 1, 2021 at 3:22 pmin this case i feel like the sign matters more because signs are characteristics and houses what aspect of life it shows up in. i don’t really see houses as “emotional”

GuestFebruary 1, 2021 at 3:22 pmI think houses notoriously hold more weight. Referring to the above example, say you have a moon in Scorpio in the 9th house. This moon would be far more lighthearted and far more curious/impressionable than a Sag moon in the 8th house.
The house really flavors the sign the planets fall in, while the aspects seem to give the final say regarding the personal expression of each planet.
A Pisces sun in the 8th house does not seem very receptive, malleable, nor welcoming. These natives can often be mistaken for having more intense sun signs as a result. I know many people with Scorpio planets and many with 8th house planets and I would say the house holds more weight.
I can’t tell you how many Scorpio stellium people I’ve dated/befriended that can come off as surprisingly silly, child like, and light hearted as a result of having atleast one personal planet in sag.
However, there has never been anything lighthearted about any 8th house people I’ve encountered. I think having personal planets in water houses leads to heavier experiences that seem to tailor the personality significantly
I’m a water grand trine native. I am sensitive and romantic on the surface level, but most of my personal planets fall in fire or air houses. I have loved ones that have their personal planets in water houses and I would say that they are a lot more watery than I am

GuestFebruary 1, 2021 at 3:22 pmI think an 8th house moon would be more likely to be open about feelings than a Scorpio moon. Scorpio is about being secretive/private, whereas the 8th house involves secrets.
Say you bring Sagittarius/9th house into the equation. With the Moon in Scorpio in 9, maybe you feel the need to be secretive about your religion or some other 9th house matter. The house wouldn’t be likely to change the need for secrecy. With the Moon in Sagittarius in 8, on the other hand, you might feel the need to be very frank about things that are usually kept secret, since Sagittarius is outspoken and blunt.
(I have read that having a planet in, say, the 8th house will bring some Scorpio influence to its expression. So technically, having the Moon in Scorpio in 9 would probably temper the Scorpio need for secrecy somewhat. Instead the Scorpio characteristics that are reinforced by Sagittarius would be more prominent, such as a tendency to be overbearing. The main flavor would still be Scorpio, though.)
