How would you go about explaining the different elements of each planet to a beginner? I’m new to this & I’ve been trying to get my boyfriend into it as well, but I don’t quite understand it myself. I was trying to explain his Venus sign and he went ‘ why are you showing me Aquarius when my (sun) sign is Sagittarius ‘ His confusion is making me confused

I would appreciate a simple breakdown on birth chart! Much like ELI5

Google those images that are like “Planets: Symbols and Influences” or “What the planets represent in astrology”

From there, you’ll want to do a similar search for “What does each house represent in astrology?”

Just start by showing them their chart, and pointing to the glyph that is their sun (the one thing they are familiar with). And then pointing out the fact that there are all these other planets and things in the chart that are just as important, and that explain the unique complex being he is. Explain that a natal chart has infinite possible combinations of factors, unlike the idea that some have that there are only 12 kinds of people (sun sign astrology).

Explain that the moon represents his emotional self, mercury represents how his mind works, etc. And how the aspect lines describe how different parts of himself get along with other parts of himself, as well as showing how he gets along, or not, with others, or in different kinds of settings. Explain that a chart can show us what we struggle with, and what is easier for us, etc.

I don’t quite understand your question, elements as in water/earth/fire/air? If he’s even confused about planets, then I’d just say we have different planets other than sun and these planets can be in the same or different signs like how his sun is in sag and each planet is a different facet of our being.

I explain it by first telling them what their sun sign really means. Once they grasp that concept I move on to the moon and rising before getting to the other planets. I think people need to understand their big 3 before moving on to other things.
