I don’t consider myself a baby witch but more so spiritual and have not done anything I would consider witchcraft. I’m looking into doing full moon rituals and have gotten some stuff done for it but I need some more help with it.

I purchased candles and have been cleansing them in salt but I haven’t figured out how to dress them or sigil them. I’ve read some things about full moon rituals but id like a little more advice regarding it.

How you dress your candles is entirely up to you. Different traditions and individuals use different materials and methods.

When i began, i was taught candle magick without any dressing, just color associations and intent.

When i joined my first coven, they taught me to inscribe a simple petition, like, “Health”

I later worked with a family trad that anointed all their candles with olive oil, saying prayers while doing so.

I upgraded that to fancier anointing oils when i got into aroma therapy and oil decoctions.

Then i got into Chaos Magick and started using my own sigils instead of word petitions, and not long after that ended up working with some rootworkers who showed me to roll my candles in dusts and salts and herbal mixtures.

    All these spells worked.

This is to say, work with what you have, what you know, what you learn, and what you FEEL. And practice fire safety while you are at it because a dressed candle burns hot and crazy.

You can read more about dressing and inscribing candles [here](https://www.luckymojo.com/candlemagic.html#dressing).

What you choose to dress them and inscribe them with will depend on your spell’s intention and goal. If you didn’t have anything particular in mind, maybe you’d like to dress them with a Blessing oil and inscribe them with your name and sun sign symbol.

I celebrate [esbats](https://gleewood.org/seeking/doing/esbats/) on the full moon. I suggest doing a search in this sub to see what other people have done for full moon rituals. There are *many* posts on the subject, and there are often new posts made as we get closer to the full moon.
