**[Making Your Own Spells, Spell Jars & Rituals!](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wF28LqMn6_c3Fk_cbtK7sM73c0MJGAIal-wQuS1iqE8/mobilebasic)**

Yes, yes, I know it’s already mentioned in r/realwitchcraft’s Practical Advice for New Beginners, but I feel like it doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves, especially since it’s on a far smaller sub than this one and abybay itchways often don’t read the FAQ or anything, they just go straight to asking “how do I write my own spells?”. Hopefully me including that in the title will catch newbies using the search bar to find their answer.

I’d like to add Jason Miller’s [Elements of Spellcrafting](https://www.amazon.com/Elements-Spellcrafting-Keys-Successful-Sorcery/dp/1632651203) for further exploration. It’s not a hard and fast recommendation, as I personally tend to be a little more skeptical about Miller’s work, but it’s useful and informative enough that I don’t feel the need to add any *caveat emptor* to it. And I’m pretty positive it’s on zLibrary, although I only mention that for purely informational purposes.

A lot of these links are broken. If you go to the [Wayback Machine](https://web.archive.org/) and enter the url you’ll have access to cached versions of those sites. It’s how I still manage to use The Magickal Cat’s herb correspondence directory, which was honestly one of the best on the internet.

Think of them as songs or poems to the universe, just writing your request/question
