How important are moon cycles when casting a spell?

I'm curious as to how important the moon cycles are while casting, should you only perform certain spells during certain cycles or times of day?

I'm not very familiar with astrology or moon cycles, but I understand how it could be important to some spells. If anyone could share some insight that would be greatly appreciated!
