*Question: Hi Mods, I am very new to Reddit and trying to find my way around. I need to understand what the rules are for posting. Can I post an article directly inside the page or can I share any referral links?* \- u/danhz8

**Are you struggling to promote your product or service on Reddit’s complicated platform?**

Did you know Mods are completely prohibited from making any money via community or personal content? The goal of Reddit is to earn intellectual bragging rights in the form of karma points…not for profit!

**Reddit: An Anonymous Hackers Hang-out and Key to the Dark Web!**

In 1993 Ontario’s Paul Bernardo was arrested and charged with the murder of two young teenagers and brutal sexual assaults’ of over 9 young women and counting years later… The details of the upcoming trial were so horrific, the Canadian Court’s put a public media ban on all information and facts relating to the case… but this did not stop a group of trouble making collage students from stirring the pot! Appearing in the darkest corners of the internet, hackers started posting insider details about the case on usernet newgroups very similar to Reddit’s (caveman) form-style of sharing information. This caused an uproar of illegal activity and police authorities were forced to investigate collage computers to eventually shut-down Ontario “social media” until after the trial was completed. The problem with newsgroups is there was no cataloging of information. If you wanted to participate in a group forum (pre-google) you needed to know the exact address (alt.fan.karla-homolka). To know the exact address you needed to know someone, who knew someone, that knew the the address…or you could go on Reddit!

*Did you know if you want to navigate the dark-web, you first need to find underground reddit…or else you will be looking at a black screen of nothing!*

**Reddit is a group of like minded people having a conversation, not for promoting a product or service!**

Reddit is the BEST source of all things metaphysical, occult and conspiracy… links should be used for fact reference or to read more, not for referral.

    Example:

Good: “Tarot is the language of symbolism…nothing more, nothing less.” – A.E. Waite, Pictorial key to the Tarot, Introduction.

Bad: Listen to Psychic “wanna be a star” podcast here!

The point of reddit is to ignite a conversation, how can that happen when everyone reading the post is going off-site? A better way to promote conversation and better Karma would be to say…

*Psychic “wanna be a star” has a very interest idea about astral traveling, she says most of our dreams are actually astral traveling experiences, we just don’t remember? How can I better remember my dreams and promote astral traveling during sleep?*

    …get my drift?

    **How to post on Reddit**

    Community – Topic of conversation

    Post – Question

    Votes – Deserved Attention

    Comments – Conversation

    **A little about Karma!**

I hate down-voting to zero because I see so many missed opportunities for a conversation and vast community information. If the post only has one vote, leave it alone… Better yet if it upsets you, then comments a constructive critique for the original poster to defend. This is how the best debates are won!

The rule of upvoting for me is:

    1. You like the post
    2. You commented on the post

If you want to build a following (for profit) go on Facebook. If you want to be the first to know the truth…you go on Reddit! Keep your posts and comments entertaining, interesting and informative. Not commercial.

Well said, although we all know that some will not interpret this post as you intended.

Side note: While I may personally be against the concept of Reddit karma, we play by the rules of the system. That is until the system becomes that which was not intended by the creator of said system. Once the system evolves and takes a new form, in this case Reddit karma, which became “upvotes mean agree and downvotes mean disagree” do we adapt to the skewed interpretation, or do we reject it?

That is our choice, as always.

The creators of this system most likely saw the potential for abuse, but didn’t have the foresight to know how the system would be interpreted and utilized. It is notable that Reddit’s creator, and the vision that he originally had for it’s direction, are not what exists at this moment. To see what one has created be used for that which one was against… is a tough pill to swallow.

    Best wishes! 😊
