Forums Forums Tarot How would the tower card be represented as a person?

Been getting into tarot recently, and I’m also about to DM for a d&d campaign. Figured I might mix the two and base the important NPCs off different tarot cards. I’m pretty early into planning the campaign, so far I only have NPCs up to the fool, the devil, and as the title might hint at, the tower. I already had appearances in mind for the fool and the devil, but as for the tower, it has no one on it. A burning building, surprisingly, is NOT a good jumping-off point for designing a character’s appearance. So, that brings me to the question, if the tower card were to have someone on it, what do you think they’d look like?

Edit: To clarify, I mean the tower itself and not the people jumping out of or around the building. My tarot cards don’t have anyone outside it, so I forgot to mention that. I also mean their appearance, NOT their personality. I already have that sorted out.

The tower, in VERY simple terms, is about abrupt changes. Maybe a character who has a scar(s) or was physically disfigured at some point in their life, not at birth. (Think of harry potter, the joker, scar, etc)

Idk about clothing because I’ve always seen the tower as outside human’s control so their style would somehow out of their hands 😅

Pale with dark feature, rough but refined. Dark, stormy eyes. I like Mia’s suggestion of scars. Perhaps some facial burns and scaring?

Tower might not always be associated with being tall, maybe stunning and will automatically draw attention to itself. Different and outstanding. Someone who likes to rock peoples world whether it be in a good or a bad way.

I think the person needs to be honest, say what’s on their mind, even if it’s uncomfortable…to produce a tower-effect learning experience for someone else.

At least that’s how I felt it was for me when I was to be a tower.

The tower is also called the House of God, and represents the tower of Babel. Maybe a character who talks in riddles to tie into the Bible story?

This is such a cool concept! In my head he’s a very rugged man, and a looming presence. Tall + broad shoulders, and I think the scars are a great idea!

A hot mess of person that might change the goal of your campaign. Maybe you thought you were questing for a specific goal, but they reveal a truth that resets your expectations or destroy something unexpectedly.
