I’m making my own tarot deck. Any advice?

Stop worrying about your sanity; that’s gonna go either way
Something thst might be good is to use poker cards as the base, & from them familiarize yourself with the minors, use another half deck to fill in the Pages and the Majors
You could also try and use dice to generate the cards & have the images printed to look at & vibe with
Q… Do you want to like draw from scratch or just make yourself.an affordable rws

Turn pokers into a Lenormand & get used to reading & interpreting

Hello fellow person who is doing a tarot. We’re in the same boat.
I actually use wikipedia to follow the order of major arcana and minor arcana and see what characteristics and meanings the image of the cards have. Then I try to adapt in my illustrations.
About the illustrations, you can choose a theme you like and will make you bind to your cards. I’m doing anthropomorphic characters (even in some cards it’s hard to adapt it, like the tower, but I’m trying)
You can use the size of a normal card deck or you can search the size of a tarot card.
About your sanity… worrying about it just will make your sanity go faster~ -
Mixed media paper I used the Fabriano A5 pad. Oracle cards and used collage and watercolors paints and color pencils. The cups of Tarot you could collage wine glass images from old magazines to cut out. Wands maybe some woodgrain scrapbooking paper 1 sheet should be enough for plenty wands. I own several but still plan to illustrate my own. My recommendation is just to go for it. Do some research on the symbolism and then let your intuition do the rest of the work. If you can’t draw, rip out images and collage them together, then photocopy and turn them into cards.

Go with the flow. Use images you resonate with. Don’t pressure yourself. Just go with whatever happens.
