    So I’m starting to accept I’m an empath. I dont believe the experiences I’ve had are “just dreams/illusions.” I’ve experienced spirits when I was young. One in particular. Ive seen into the future and predicted events. Im able to read people and have seen people who have passed.

    That being said, I dont know how to control it. I feel all over the place. Right now I feel like I’m too in tune and am overwhelmed with emotions. I need help! I need to connect with someone who can help me Chanel my energy. I need to develop myself and learn how to be in control. Any suggestions? I live in Iowa

    I’m going through the same thing. It feels like you can feel every atom of energy and emotion someone is feeling and it’s so overwhelming. I also feel like I’m too busy thinking and feeling and so much is going through my head that I’ve started to have panic attacks. Can someone help US?

    Judith Orloff’s book The Empath’s Survival Guide provides a general overview on this subject and includes a lot of practical day-to-day tips on how to control your sensitivity and recover from energy symptoms. Learning how to do grounding meditations will also help, especially since you’ve encountered entities that aren’t corporeal. If you’ve never meditated before, I recommend searching for “guided meditations” for grounding. There are many approaches and methods for it which are effective with regular practice.

    I don’t recommend learning to channel energy at this stage without those fundamentals first. If you don’t know how to meditate and quiet the mind, ground yourself, or shield your energy for protection, then activities like channeling may be overwhelming or potentially dangerous.

    I actually have a podcast episode that talks about this very thing. I agree Judy Orloff is a great starting point.
