Forums Forums Tarot Pulled the tower in my yes or no reading and now I’m really depressed

Had a tarot session with a psychic and I know you are never supposed to ask questions that you may not like the answer to, but I was just so anxious to know. Either way, I asked if she could see me in a job that has been my dream job since I was a little girl. She ended up saying that the cards pointed to no and not only no, but that she pulled the tower. This was a few weeks ago and I’ve been thinking about it nonstop and it has made me crazy depressed. I’ve worked my ass off to get to this job, and in hindsight, I know I probably shouldn’t have asked and I do regret it now, but now that I know what I know I can’t help but feel so directionless and stuck if this is really the outcome in store.

I know it’s not good to put so much dependence on the cards and I don’t know a crazy lot about tarot, but I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anything or worked harder for anything in my life, so pulling the tower was not only the biggest slap in the face, but it’s also made me question everything. How can I even be positive about life if it means that I can’t spend it doing something I love? 🙁 Is the tower always a definite no? Could there be a possible second interpretation or some kind of positivity I can take from this?

Rather than asking if you will get the job in the state you are currently in, right now, perhaps you could ask what are some things you can do to get closer to the job.

Right now it is a no, because you’re not ready.

My favorite question to ask my cards are

“What do I need to know right now?”

“What can I do to get closer to the goal?”

Sounds like you’re giving a lot of power to a deck of cards. It certainly is hard when your own agency is ripped from you, especially when you’re the one taking it away from yourself 😉

You should take a moment to think about what you believe about tarot cards: Do they tell the One True Future? Can they really predict events? No matter your woo level, tarot cards are still just a deck of cards. Even if you believe that they’re connected to some great source of truth, I think most folks would agree that the future is mutable, and not decided by tarot cards. Even the most woo believe that the outcomes are possibilities rather than absolutes. If it were to play out all the time exactly as cards said, they would be far more prevalent for things like business ventures, political events, or even just personal use. And they would always tell me that the sky is blue, but that’s just not what happens.

It seems to me that perhaps simply seeing the Tower caused the kind of meltdown the the Tower itself implies. Your building was shaken because it wasn’t strong enough to stand up to a traumatic event. This is a chance to rebuild from the foundation of your known truth. Tarot cards never come before your own beliefs. Do you see yourself in that job? Will you be happy there? If yes, move forward happily and without fear. If you have reservations about “yes” to either of those questions, then you can reevaluate.

Your positivity should be renewed strength in your conviction that you’re on the right path for you, no matter what a deck of cards tells you 🙂

I’ve heard the tower read as more of an “out with the old, in with the new” idea. Like something (such as a life goal) must be torn down before it can be rebuilt bigger, better, & stronger. I never ask anything future related that has a chance of changing because so much can change between now & then, basically canceling out the answer anyway. (or if I do ask a future question, I give very specific conditions, knowing that if any of those conditions changes, so will my answer)

Tarot cards are not the medium for hard yeses an noes, and any reader who offers them is probably not worth visiting. You may as well use a coin toss or a Magic Eight-ball. Using tarot for a binary question is like hiring a troupe of tap dancers to install a light fixture.

It could also be a case where on your path as it exists now you don’t make it. But that in no way means there isn’t a path at all. You may just need to switch up your plan a bit and reassess.

You need to be careful as to who you go to for tarot as some people could be so negative with explaining things. It could be that before you’re ready for your dream job you need to tear down any beliefs and expectations you had about the job going into it so that you can build upon your dreams in a stable way with a solid foundation.

I do not interpret this as a negative. And like everyone else is saying, there’s always free will. Anything can change tomorrow. Now that you have this knowledge, apply all your energy into getting your dream job and you’ll get it.

Tower could mean you get the job and it is a new beginning for you

The tower could absolutely mean that you get that career but it causes a vast shift in your life, it causes a lot of old baggage to go away, outgrown relationships to end, and previously held misconceptions to be brought to light.

Sounds like the reader wasn’t the best you could have gone to.
