Purchasing First Deck

Hello lovely people! I’m brand new to tarot, however when talking with friends they have said that you must not buy your first deck yourself and instead it must be gifted. Is this true? I’d love to hear thoughts/opinions! ❤️

There is far too much mystical nonsense regarding tarot. They are inanimate objects. Go out and buy whichever deck you like. If you like the artwork, that’s the right deck for you.

just bought my first one! I say if you don’t see anyone giving it to you in the near future, just buy one for yourself when you feel that the time is right – a gift from you to yourself.

I think you can buy it! I was gifted my first deck but it just happened to be the exact one I was going to buy (my bf bought it for me and I never told him which deck I wanted so it was extra special ha).

Don’t believe everything you hear or read. Use your due diligence and listen only what your guts – heart is telling you.

Pick a deck that’s speaks to you. Don’t just buy deck because someone is using and say it’s good. Buy one that’s speaking to you personally.

Observe each deck specifically 22 major arcana since there is all you really need, and all other cards would fit in the path.

Take a time to look around without getting distracted from reviews, photos, recommendations . Pick just one for you, grow with it and learn about yourself through.
