Background: my family is VERY religious, and I deviated for my own reasons about 13/14, and began to look into paganism a few years later. Around my early 20s I was brought into witchcraft (I had only glimpsed at the notion previously while exploring my own pagan beliefs and path). I kept this to myself because I didn’t have many friends I could bring it about to and family was not going to be accepting, as they weren’t accepting of me separating from their religion. I kept a digital grimoire during this time. Fast forward a few years with some life changes and confiding in friends, and I had started copying my digital grimoire physically, and as I would finish I’d delete the digital page as I wouldn’t need it anymore.

    That was a mistake.

A few years ago my grimoire got destroyed by water damage. The ink was so runny it was illegible on the few pages that hadn’t meshed together. This was very upsetting and until recently I never started again. I am now in the process of rewriting my grimoire from scratch, and unfortunately don’t remember my layouts at all. All I remembered in detail is that I had reference pages for runes and alchemical symbols.

I guess I’m looking for to see/know how others organize their grimoires while I start working on mine again.

I find it helpful to make three rough sections, like practice, theory, belief systems.

    A5 ringed binder!
If you want to have a backup you could always have a digital copy and print the pages for the physical copy.

Mine is a constant WIP but I have dividers and enjoy being able to search by section and add / edit pages where needed without having to worry about removing / leaving blank pages in a bound book.

I’m working on remaking mine as well. I’ve been practicing for a long time but I’ve always been super disorganized with it. I’m using a scrapbook to make one large BoS now. It works just like a three ring binder but is so much nicer looking. Being able to get crafty and artsy with it is super fun too. Each page gets put inside a plastic sleeve so they are protected from wax dripping, water and oil!
