Hi everyone, I’m new to tarot reading and still in the process of getting to know the cards. Has anyone had the tower card drawn for themselves and then had something bad or significant happen to them after?

It truly varies especially upon the deck being used (always consult the book, if one is included with your deck) furthermore studying the art of tarot, the cards and their origins. Asking others for advice is alright however we all usually will interpret the card(s) based on questions, moments surrounding the reading and other cards within the reading itself. If you’re new, as you mentioned, find an experienced reader to help assist you during your learning process and spiritual practical journey.

The Tower is destruction of your beliefs/habits/relationships/… Because of an accumulation of tension. Something that should have been taken place in a smoothie way it turns to an aggressive destruction due to the fact that you got too attached to those beliefs/habits/… And you didn’t want to release them so energetically the thing went too tense that it couldn’t stand anymore like this.

It’s not bad because it gives the opportunity to change and universe is giving you a push, like the push you give to the domino and all the pieces fall apart. It’s a big help because sometimes we get stuck in our fears.

I like to do things smoothly but when it appears it’s telling me that I’ve been stuck and changes are gone come if I want it or not, but always for good💐🫂

The message in the Tower card for me is….the NECESSARY destruction to give way for a significantly better “re-build”.
    In my case:
I saw the tower card when doing a reading for myself many years ago. Sure enough I found myself losing my job, getting a divorce, and looking for a new place to live (Stressful to say the least) all at once. This felt like total destruction of my personal, professional and love life. However, this tower moment in my life provided an opportunity to start from scratch, to re-build, stronger and better than before. Today I am happily married, moved from the desert to a tropical environment and am launching my new company.

Tower moments are scary and sometimes difficult. The silver lining with the tower is the ability to hit the re-set button and create a new life……stronger and better than before.

Oh yes. It’s usually something very bad but that leads to something better. Even though the transition is painful it’s all about tearing down things that aren’t serving you. Sometimes it happens as a result of resisting change, so the universe has to force it upon you. The last tower I encountered I shortly after lost a job I loved. I had been there for almost 4 years, through two complete staff turnovers, worked my @$$ off, but got let go for demanding to be paid what I was worth. It was a huge betrayal. They had me work along my replacement unknowingly for 3-4 months and I even trained her. It was a huge blindside after basically being the sole one holding the place together for years.

It had to happen though, I would’ve never left on my own. The new job I now make $10 more per hour, which much less stress, and more support and appreciation, and better hours and commute.

The transition was awful, and painful as hell, but it got me where I needed to be.

What is the difference between the Tower card and the Ten of Swords ?

Personally I do not see the tower as the annunciation of something serious and bad, but as the collapse of something. It could be the collapse of a toxic relationship for example, it’s not necessarily negative!

    Correlation does not imply causation.

Drawing the tower (or any other card) has zero bearing on anything in your life except your mentality. If you draw a “bad” card and you put faith that it will impact your life, then you will seek out negativity and ascribe it to the power of the card.

So yes, people have drawn this, and other traditionally negative cards and then had some bad happen. But one does not in any way beget the other.

What was the context of the reading?

If it was about a person, keep in mind it is a phallic symbol. (i.e. a love reading= great sex, awful relationship)

I always look at the cards around the Tower. Lately I have been getting it too right next to Justice regarding a situationship. And honestly? That actually scares me.
