Sad day for our family yesterday. We lost our family cat after 12 years, very suddenly.

And somehow I knew… and so did my wife.

I was working from home yesterday… totally silent went I do that. Around 1-1:30pm I had a huge and sudden “sound” in my ears. Sort of like tinnitus but it didn’t sound the same. Felt like something significant had happened, but not knowing how to interpret that I kept on with my work.

At 4:10pm I went upstairs to get a change of clothes and take a shower. That’s when I found her. The state in which I found her takes about three hours to set in, which checks. I believe I sensed her going, and while there’s not anything I could have done I wish I’d known so I could have been there for her.

I had to break the news to my wife about 20 minutes later. Last night, she told me she got a very weird and strong feeling at 4:10pm. I hadn’t told her that I found the cat at 4:10. I believe she didn’t sense the cat’s passing but sensed my feelings upon finding her.

That’s more significant to me, because it would be the first time she’s ever expressed something like that. I’ve posted a few times in here over the past year already… I have a long history of events and “knowing” and “hearing” things that I have no logical way to know and I’m working to embrace that and develop it into something useful.

My wife has no serious doubts about my ability to do that as she’s seen too much of it. But before now, I cannot recall a single time she has expressed such an experience.

So I guess for those more deep into this than me…

1). I really would like advice on how to “listen” better. If that’s even possible to do.

2). I’d like people’s takes on my wife having an experience here as well. A possible one-time thing, or only something she noticed now because of how strong it was?

Very sorry to hear about your cat. Sad day indeed.

I find it concerning that you think your wife could only have an experience like this through or by you.

Unless both of you are constantly keeping track of time by the minute, the chances the feeling occurred for both of you at what was actually 4:10 are slim to none.

Even if it did, the poor cat could have passed away right when you walked in the room.

I’m sorry about your cat, but I would suggest focusing on your own experiences like this and getting a hold of them, before you start trying to get ahold of someone else’s.
