I’m using the rider-Waite-smith deck and John Holland’s Tarot for the heart. I do not have positions for cards, I let them fall out naturally and usually do 5.

So back story, I went on a solo trip this weekend and I met this girl off a dating app and we had a really cool connection. Fast forward to being in my hotel room I wanna pull cards on her, she’s hesitant because she thinks it’s of the devil but I convince her that it’s fine. So the question I asked is, what is the energy around me meeting (insert girls name). I was pretty shocked bc I never get the death card and to have it next to the devil was pretty interesting. I didn’t know how to interpret it so I just explained each card in a more original context and as I was reading it really resonated for her but specifically about her own mental space and getting over an ex. Here’s what I got.

8 of cups: a decision was made to walk away from an emotional situation that was no longer worth the effort. The cups aren’t spilled so there’s definitely love there but walking away was the only option.

Judgement: this was a very difficult decision for you and there may have been some life changing repercussions

3 o coins- this one stumped me. You’ve been putting energy into a business venture and people are finally taking note

The devil: you’re still being haunted by this relationship though or some kind of shackle to the relationship

Death: it’s going to require a complete retransformation of your mind state to let go of this situation and move forward.

With the heart chakra I sensed her heart chakra is blocked and with release I felt she clearly hasn’t let go of the pain and for her it’s actually guilt.

Let me know either what you think about my interpretation or how you would have interpreted in regards to my initial question, “What is the energy around me meeting her”

Do you also read reversals and they all came out upright? I would’ve interpreted everything similarly given the context and you say that she resonated with it a lot so that’s good! I usually interpret the 3 of pentacles/coins as teamwork/learning to collaborate/learning to work in a team setting too. Not necessarily only in a work environment. Given the context this could mean she might not be on the same page as others, maybe struggling to work together with others (maybe even in a relationship context), probably because her old relationship (The devil) is hindering her from it. So all in all „the energy around you meeting her“ is probably that she‘s still struggling with deep wounds from her old relationship that probably won’t be easy to overcome.
