What is the significance of your sun when the sun is not the ruler of your chart…?

the significance of the sun is independent of being a chart ruler. only leo risings/ascendants will have the sun as their chart ruler, this doesn’t mean the significations of the sun dim in the charts of the other rising signs. any planet can be the chart ruler, what matters is the condition of said planet.
understand that even for a leo rising, the sun as chart ruler might be very weak relative to the other planets – have no essential dignity, weak house, unaspected, out of sect.
on the flip side, the sun while not being chart ruler might be very strongly placed & the chart ruler itself might not be.
reading each individual planet’s condition is the necessary first step but being able to synthesize it all is key.

Basically, it has a big importance in your life just like the moon and ascendant. They are usually the top 3 placements people look at, they don’t have to be your chart ruler.
