The last few nights our young daughter (under 2) has started saying hi ‘brothers name’ when putting her to bed at night and waving in the same place to something above us. We are open and talk about him around her and of course have pictures of him around. Upon speaking with my husband the other night we have both been having the same experience with her though (without knowing it). We do not know exactly what to say and do not want to discourage it so I just say things like “that is so sweet, he loves you so much”. Please let me know if we should have other input on this as I want to keep it as a positive experience that she remains open to if it truly is happening.

I have never posted here that I remember so I hope this is the place to ask.

    You’re doing it right.

If she talks about seeing other spirits, she may have psychic abilities herself. She’s a little young right now, but at around age 4, I would look into putting her in yoga classes (I know that’s silly, but young kids LOVE yoga) or tai chi classes. These activities will teach her how to constructively channel her energy which will be important if she is a psychic kid!

Sounds like your instincts are spot on. Just let her speak, and, as long as your daughter is not in distress, know that it’s totally normal.

I’m sorry for your loss 💜

My son around 18 mos started pointing at the picture of my father in law and saying “papa jack”. The wasn’t his “grandpa name” when he was living. So this was the most interesting part of our story. We would wake up to our son giggling in his crib. Around 2.5 he would tell us. “Papa jacks here!” And point to where he was. And we’d all say hi. It was heart-warming.
