I’m not sure if this is the right place to post, but I’m needing some insight. A very close loved one just told me that they could hear people’s thoughts. I’ll be honest when I say that I was surprised to hear this. In some ways I’m a little hurt and upset that it was a secret that was kept from me because if anyone could understand and be accepting it would be me. Am I overreacting or are my feelings valid?

You’re overreacting, they may have been afraid and concerned people would think they’re crazy. You need to look at this from their point of view also.
Now is the time to support them and let them know you’re happy to talk about things etc and also have someone for you to talk about the “unseen” wonders of the universe.

Would you blame this person for hiding that they are a telepath in light of the reaction that you had?
Upon finding out I was a medium, a coworker had a violent and terribly hurtful reaction (incorrect) and asked me if I could hear their thoughts.
Telepaths instill fear. People have thoughts that they would never express, aloud. Some are pretty awful to sense, actually.
Telepaths know that people react in fear, so, they do not generally announce their abilities. Your reaction may have caused another disappointment for them, since they trusted you.
Couples often become telepathic after years, together. This is why they do not even speak, but, bring the butter to the table, make the hash browns without asking for breakfast, say, “I know” when something occurs in front of them or leave a party without words.

Think that question next time you’re with your friend and see what they answer.

How can you tell he is not lying or delusional? Did you research their ability so you could come to a valid conclusion?
