I was having self worth issues and feeling low. So I thought instead of trying to manifest what should I have, I thought I should focus on what should I become. So I asked tarot question (I use tarot through online sites) what is my higher self like/ what will I be like at the very best? At first I got Ten of Wands, then I thought how can Ten of Wands be my highest self. Then I shuffled again online, I got The Devil and when I shuffled again I got Eight of Pentacles. I went to another tarot website and shuffled again focusing on the question and I got the Devil again. My question is how can the Devil be my highest self or the person I’m at my very best?

So did you draw more cards because you struggled to interpret the first one? Are you asking particularly about the Devil here because it came up twice? Why not take the Ten of Wands as the ‘correct’ card and ask for a second opinion on that? I’m just curious about your approach to drawing cards – whether you prefer to keep pulling until one makes sense, or if you put more weight on repeated cards or the first card you pull.

Bear in mind that when asking for an interpretation second opinion, you need to share your opinion too (rule 3). Can you think of any positive sides to the Ten of Wands? Or the Devil? If you see these cards as negative, have you considered that your highest self might relate to what these cards are *not*? A straightforward interpretation of the Ten of Wands as your highest self could be that you are able to carry a lot on your shoulders, that your capacity is larger than you think, your spirit is stronger than you think. Or, you know not to take on too much and your highest self will be realised when you stop pushing yourself to the point of burnout.

Ultimately though, the point of reading for yourself, in my opinion, is that the cards illuminate your own subconscious. Your own personal interpretations will be more ‘real’ and ‘true’ than those of anyone on here, who don’t know you.

I like one of the Fool’s Journey reading of the devil here:[http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/learn/meanings/devil.shtml](http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/learn/meanings/devil.shtml)

The Devil of your highest self could mean you have a good awareness of your shadow self and can see how people’s struggles impact them, allowing you to become compassionate. For me, the Devil is the “you’re only human” card. Therefore, Devil as the highest self could also mean “humility”. The article also mentions good traits of the Devil like resourcefulness and ambition.

That said, asking “highest self at the very best” could just mean your highest at the *time* of the reading. The future is fluid and you can always do more to be in touch with your better qualities. Most Tarot readers do not see their readings as “absolute” and will agree the future can be changed.

The Devil card (to me) represents a sense of humor, lightheartedness and an observational point of view rather than taking everything so seriously as many of us were taught to do once we entered school and then eventually work. The “Kingdom of Heaven belongs to children” means (again, to me) that we can only become our best selves by remaining curious instead of “all-knowing”. Where is the fun in that? Omniscience leaves nothing to the imagination. Hope this helps! ✨

So, my gut feeling is that The Devil was telling you that you’re tricking yourself. You didn’t understand or like the initial answer, so you tried looking for something that felt better. Eight of Pentacles followed up by telling you to simply trust in your initial answer and work with that. I know I’m presuming here, but a minor arcana doesn’t mean your higher self isn’t going to be as amazing as it would have been had you gotten a major arcana. Ten of Wands could be telling you that you’re a hard worker who will reap incredible benefits. It’s not always about taking on too much work.
