Afraid to allow myself to use my natural gifts.

Hello! Ever since I was a child, I’ve been able to feel and sense things. Sometimes, there’s just things I know, and then those things happen.

At some point when I was younger, I had read that once you allow yourself to open up to these abilities, that it’s not always possible to control it. That you may end up opening yourself up to negative entities and become a beacon for them once they realize you have abilities. Is this true? I’ve honestly been to nervous to even really do too much research or reading on these topics. Is this a valid fear? I’d appreciate any answers. Thanks so much!

I don’t believe that there isn’t a way to protect yourself from negative entities. It could be difficult at first but I would do some research on how to protect yourself from any negative entities/energy from being around you. It would help you be less afraid, I think!

For me, it’s simple but I just envision a white protective light surrounding my body and expanding to my room/home. And verbalizing (or just saying it in my head) that nothing negative is allowed to be around me.

Besides that you could ask your spirit guides to protect you as well I believe. I have to do more research myself 🙂

When I was a child I was told to hide my talents because people would call me crazy, I would draw negative energy etc, etc. That really had as much sense as my mom telling me that if I scratched my belly button too hard my intestines would fall out. If you ask for only positive entities, protect yourself with a prayer or smudging, which ever you feel most comfortable with, you are fine.

There are a lot out there that are fearful and scare others with their comments. I always ask where the people get their information and most say everyone knows that, etc. No basis for their comments. That is why when I answer someone I give them articles that they can read and make their own decisions, and I can show that I am not just spouting my own ideas.

I use prayer to protect myself if a feel uneasy. This is the long version I use.

In the Name of God, the Lord of overpowering majesty, the All-Compelling.

This is the short part of the prayer at the end which I use as a quick prayer, with protection from all sides what could possibility bother me?

You have a gift, you would not have been given something that you would not be able to control. I found In My search that the Baha’i writings are the only ones that really give a comprehensive vision of the next world, the purpose and life of the soul, how to help those who pass on etc, and the views are based on writings which can be references. The nice thing about Baha’i they do not say they are the only true religion, just the most current, that you do not have to give anything up, that searching answers of spiritual nature are your own responsibility, that you are responsible for your individual spiritual journey, Baha’i ‘s will only try to assist you in that journey, and do not expect you to become Baha’i. I found the writings and articles very factual, and mind opening.
