An Explanation of the Reason we Ask Mediums not to Read on the Posts.

We ask that Mediums not read on posts and that they offer any assistance free (in chat or pms) for reasons that I am explaining in light of yet another fracas.

There are mediums in this sub. There are developing Mediums and aspiring mediums and just plain non Mediums wanting to weigh in for various reasons.

We ask that Mediums do not provide impromptu readings on a post for these reasons:

Users have contacted us telling us that money has been demanded due to Posts here. We deal with that rather strongly. We have an r/MediumReadings sub for that where the users responding are vetted mediums, not Joe Blow from somewhere. Shady characters prey on vulnerable people in grief. So we keep a close eye on potential.scanmers and we do expose them. Scammers and well-intentioned undertrained psychic hopefuls can cause harm to those in need.

We don’t need to prove ourselves or to show off our skills, here. We are in THIS sub for development and learning, not competition. We are here to offer advice.

Readings here are expected.to be free, and, privacy is fair to expect.

We are not altering the rules to suit anyone.

Once in awhile a new user comes in and wants the sub changed to fit their desires.It took years to develop this sub and to learn from our mistakes. It took years to make this a safer place for readers and sitters.

We recently had a newer user demand that the rules be changed or else they would make their own sub. Then, that user went to our sister subs, to ask for support.

That user does not seem to know that many of our sister subs have the same owners and that our mods communicate behind the scenes. We support each other and we work hard.

In particular, r/Psychic, r/Mediums and r/MediumReadings are closely associated.

We do wish them well. New subs are always exciting and a way to learn.
