I’ve been wanting to write a book for so long but I’m so afraid. I have so many good ideas and I’m afraid I’m not good enough.

I still write everyday. I journal, I write copy, occasional blog posts. But I want to take it to the next level.

I have a great idea but just want to be brave and have the integrity and drive to sit and do it.

Are there any spells for this that aren’t shadow work? I’ve done plenty of that by now.

When I feel stagnant energy I firstly Cleanse myself and my aura so that there isn’t any negative energy. I also created a fire jar, i.e I put all kinds of fire herbs in it with intention. Fire energy corresponds with movement and courage. So whenever I’m in need of motivation or drive I just shake it. Or you can either write the Mars symbol on your bay leaf, along with your full name and date of birth and burn it. Mars is associated with courage, movement, and motivation.

Appreciative that you posted this because I could use some spells for this as well!

Not a spell but I listen to motivational binaural beats. I like minds in unison’s channel but you can try a few different ones to see which one helps.

Huh…I actually did something kind of like this today for my first spell ever. (I’m new to all this). Then I ended up writing like 1200 words today for a book I plan o writing. I can tell you, and I guess everyone else that interested, what I did if you’d like.

Not witchy, but writer to writer, NaNoWriMo might be something that you find really helps with the motivation. There’s a set overall goal, daily word goals, forums for help and support, and generally a very encouraging atmosphere. It’s still a ways off, but you can also make use of the time to get yourself an outline of your story assembled so that you have a general map of where you’re going in tge story before you start going at it hardcore. Even just some general outline points can really help you to not feel lost and start losing momentum and motivation. Also, always remember that writing is a craft and even the masters are always learning and improving.

On the witchy end, you might consider investing in a pillar candle (long lasting) and inscribing what you want to be motivated in on it. I’d do red for passion. You could burn it for a set amount of time every day and perhaps meditate on motivat or even burn it while you sit down to write.

When I feel that way, I make a floor wash with Florida water, orange essential oil, and a bit of patchouli. Wash your floors with it. Orange essential oil always seems to bring me out of that writer’s block that can often bring depression.

Hi there! I’m a writer too and I completely understand where you are coming from. I wanted to write a book for YEARS but it never came together until recently.

Practically, I found a writing class and then a writing group in my field of expertise. Both served as huge motivators. I also forced myself to work on it a few times a week at certain time — I just wrote and didn’t care how bad it was. (That’s what editing is for.)

From a witchy perspective, I visualized myself writing a book, set intentions with the moon cycle, and worked with a mantra.

Also Tarot cards make for excellent creative inspiration!
