I find it so depressing how so many Americans are so completely apathetic to the suffering of others, within their own country and abroad. I am grateful for communities like this one because it honestly feels like no one cares sometimes. 😔

This feeling is the very root of my battle with depression. I was doing better until the overturn of Roe and since then I’m back in deep. It’s hard to live daily life while thinking how awful so many people are 🙁

Caring hearts can get overwhelmed at times. Nurturing yourself and finding community is healthy. 💕

This is such a nurturing space. I’m not a practicing witch but I do identify as one (as well as a longtime challenger of patriarchy). Wasn’t sure if this community waa for me until Roe was overturned and I decided to give it a try. I appreciate how inclusive and empathetic this community is. It really does feel like a community rather than a forum

Aussie hussy here. We are all with our sisters in this difficult time. We feel the pain and the outrage💜💚

You’re definitely not wrong. I think a lot of apathy comes from people who know this suffering exists, but only ever sees it on the internet and the news and nothing about it irl. When we see constant tragedies on the news but never any real personal connection to those tragedies, it’s easy to become apathetic and not think about it.

I am definitely one of those people, especially concerning the topic of race and poverty. I was born and raised in a predominantly white and wealthy area of my state (which I still live in) where seeing homelessness or real life acts of racism is rare, for example. It’s something that I want to work towards to fix. Just because something isn’t happening to me doesn’t mean it isn’t happening at all or that people don’t need help
