I’m pretty new to witchcraft but I’m a fast learner. I’ve been doing free tarot readings on Reddit so I can become more proficient (great practice btw). A girl asked for a reading that I assume was a more “normal” question but in between her request and when I got to her, a family member of hers passed away.

She asked me if I could do a reading seeking a message from her loved one. She said “I understand this is weird and if you can’t do it” but I felt like it would probably work, so I decided to try.

The reading definitely worked. I feel very lucky that the loved one seemed to know what was happening, was ready to pass into the next stage of existence, and wanted to communicate love and sadness.

Sometimes I feel emotions from people I read tarot for and I felt a lot of sadness during this reading. Some of it is my own but some of it is not. I’m not sure if it’s the sadness of the girl who asked for the reading or the sadness of the loved one who died. Or both. Has anyone else had experiences like this when speaking to the departed?

I feel that there is a calling for me to do this work, at least sometimes. I have a loved one who died who probably wants to speak to me. I’m not ready for that yet.

My body feels OK. I think I got the protection magic and energy management set up correctly for the work.

Youre an empath and a medium. You dont necessarily need tarot or anything to talk to spirits, you can try doing a reading without anything. Just Spirit and you.

I recommend going to a spiritualist church nearby or getting a mediumship development teacher.

And you can always read books on mediumship and practice, practice, practice.

Find out about basic psychic protection to stop being drained. You need more grounding is what I am getting.

Also, try your best to always deliver factual evidence from the spirits. The more the better. Get information only the client would know, and no one else. Read for strangers to have less bias.

Doing all of this will help word of your readings spread and you might be able to do this professionally!

You could certified too by the NSAC and its a hard test and process. But if youre really good, it might be worth it for you!
