Wondering how my fellow witches celebrate (if at all!) It’s my partner and I’s first one and I thought it could be a romantic way to bond. I’m not looking to do a literal bonding spell though. Maybe just lighting a pink candle over dinner or something. Would love to be inspired by y’all!!

The wife and I have a special rose quartz that we set up for the day next to a candle. We let the activities of the day charge up that crystal, then use it throughout the year for any relationship/love related work.

    Also sex magic 😏

I’m going to be trying my hand at a bit of kitchen witchcraft by making homemade chocolate hearts with cherries inside. I want to put forth the intention of promoting platonic and familial love (I feel these two are often overlooked compared to romantic love, plus I don’t have a partner so these are the things I want to focus on)

Sort of, the day before I’m casting a big spell because of Venus max brightness.

Red candles and a few rose quartz on the side. Lovely on the evening!

In my culture on this day the patron Saint of wine is celebrated – when the vines are uncovered from the earth for a new year of growth. Patron Saint is a Christian overlay of what is the God of wine and passion, Trifon Zarezan. I think of him as an earthier Dionysus, thought the two are not identical.

My culture has deep roots in agriculture (as do all cultures, I suppose) and many households would have some vines and make wine in autumn to have for the winter months, so if by this date you haven’t drank your wine or it hasn’t turned into vinegar, you’d drink it around this period to make way for the new things to come. Wine has been very important for gatherings, celebrations and even funerals – some is spilled on the grave of deceased family to keep them satisfied and appease them each year, what I suppose can be called ancestor work.

I will be having a glass of red, lighting a candle and thanking those who came before me, and welcoming the things to come. I will also make a nice meal for my partner and I and just having a general chilled time I think.
