Astrocartography and the Olympics: Looking at Simone Biles’ Chart

Hi all, I was just thinking more about astrocartography in relation to the Olympics, since there have been a number of posts about astrocartography here recently. I was thinking how in addition to many other factors (including, during this particular Olympics, the immense stress of the pandemic and the ban on spectators; no family members or friends of the athletes able to attend and give moral support), one factor that could affect athletes’ success is whether the location of the games is along a line favorable to their natal chart. It is interesting to me how the games location is always changing, and the individual athletes of course have no control over this, so it’s a wild card. That means that their training could be going well throughout the year in preparation for the games in their hometown, but then they encounter different energy in the city that the games are held. I was contemplating the challenges Simone Biles has been facing, and brought up her chart on Astrodienst and looked up her lines for Japan through the Astro Click Travel section. Although her birth time’s Rodden Rating on Astrodienst is only a C, so the accuracy of her chart should be met with caution, the lines I found seemed to be quite demonstrative of what she is currently experiencing. The closest aspect line to Tokyo for her is Uranus square Midheaven, which definitely speaks to unexpected challenges, including disturbances to career, nervous energy, and the need for more personal freedom.

Her Chiron IC line is also nearby, running through Japan just west of Osaka. Astrodienst gives this description: “You may be reminded of painful episodes from your early childhood, and you are determined to liberate yourself from the negative effects of the past by psychotherapeutic means. It is not easy to analyse your most intimate parts but by confronting old psychic wounds and repressed emotional pain, you can effectively regain a wholesome identity.” This makes me think of how one of the reasons Biles has given for staying in this Olympics was to continue to hold the U.S. gymnastics association accountable for the sexual abuse perpetrated against her and so many of her former teammates. It has been such a feat of strength for her to continue despite the trauma she endured. Yet for her to come into the Olympic spotlight again, near this Chiron line, is to feel that trauma again and be overwhelmed by it.

On the positive side, her Jupiter DC line also runs nearby, at a diagonal angle through Nagoya, so slightly closer to Tokyo than the Chiron line. This one suggests good relations with the people around you, “tolerance, generosity, and freedom,” feeling “happy and relaxed.” So it could be that as Biles is working through some really tough energy right now, she could also receive the support and compassion needed from her teammates and coaches to rebound and feel more confident for the individual events. I hope that is the case! I have yet to look into the astrocartography of the games for other well-known athletes like Naomi Osaka. I am curious to hear anyone’s thoughts on this topic.

Interesting. Being an AstroCartography nerd, and having lived many, many places, the effects of the aspects CAN manifest in as little as 36 hours in the temporary zones.
