When we start to come to terms with our psychic abilities, and we begin to offer readings it is easy to not say. “No”.

We can book too many appointments and exhaust ourselves. That is one issue. So we have to gauge what we can handle without becoming drained or becoming ill. We have to remember to take care of our loved ones, as well.

We can have a strong instinctive reaction to a client.
Sometimes, we need to say, “No”.

We want to help people. We agree to read that person to whom we have a negative reaction, and we forget to pre-screen them. Sometimes. We have personality conflicts and we need to learn when to say, “No. I am sorry. I am not the correct reader for you”.

We have to recognize when a client says that no one could.help them, that we can say, “No. I can help.you with this. We have this”.

We have to know when we are out of our depth with spirits and say, “No. Leave”.

I am sure there are many more instances.

I can recall vividly not wanting to say. “No”.

It is alright to decline a reading or a client. It feels as if we should be able to help everyone. It is good to recognize when a person needs a reader better suited to their needs and to admit that.

    I prefer saying , “Yes”.

This is (to me) a reflection of healthy self esteem, of being able to say “no”. We are not always the best person for the job. Sometimes the situation is not in our wheel house or the level of emotional processing required for the client is too intense. A lot of readings turn into variations on counseling, even if it’s not legally “counseling”.

So saying “no” is an extension of boundaries and knowing that by saying no, that it doesn’t reflect anyone’s abilities. It’s good to get in the practice of giving referrals to other readers when the ball isn’t in your court. It has the side benefit of making you seem more legit, as you are willing to turn money down so that the client has a good and accurate experience. Which is a win/win in my book.
