GuestFebruary 8, 2021 at 8:57 amIf you’re interested in the traditional Rider Waite system I found that “The Ultimate Guide to the Rider Waite Tarot” by Johannes Fiebig and Evelin Bürger to be very helpful in the beginning. It breaks down all the specifics of each card and what they add to the image as a whole. It’s helped me a lot with becoming a more intuitive reader.
Oracle cards are great, but not necessary if you don’t vibe with them. Oracle cards are not based on a set system and the symbolism is usually more personalized to the person or people who create the decks. I got my first set ever this year, and I find them best for quick guidance draws rather than anything in depth.
Best wishes on your journey!

I listen to Root Lock Radio and Tarot for the Wild Soul. Very informative and digestible.

Tarot for Yourself: A Workbook for Your Inward Journey- Mary K. Greer
Seventy Eight Degrees if Wisdom- Rachel Pollack
The Forest of Souls- Rachel PollackThere is also a Tarot Coloring book which is a fun way to learn.
A popular tarot podcast right now is Between The Worlds. So far they have gone over the major arcana, cups, wands, and are in swords.
There is also one called Tarot Bytes which are very short lessons by Theresa Reed (I think she helped with the coloring book too)These are all RWS sources!

GuestFebruary 8, 2021 at 8:57 am*Untold Tarot* by Caitlin Matthews is a favorite of mine. It’s a Marseille-style book, but the reading techniques are applicable to anything. If you are going to read Rider Waite or Thoth, you’ll want a book on those first, but I think Matthews is worth looking at.

GuestFebruary 8, 2021 at 8:57 amOne book that helped me a lot when I started was The Ultimate Guide to Tarot by Liz Dean but obviously there are many great resources so you’ll just have to find a book/podcast/resource that vibes best with you 🙂

GuestFebruary 8, 2021 at 8:57 amI took a course on Udemy and really liked it, but started out reading **The Kitchen Table Tarot** by Melissa Cynova.
I’ve also used learntarot.com and I’m about to jump back into that site for some more learning too.

GuestFebruary 8, 2021 at 8:57 amGet the book the Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot by Dusty White. It’s like a workbook with non-woo exercises that will help you learn how to read the cards.
