NicolinaParticipantHow can I tell if my dreams about my late father are my brains concoction or an actual visit from him?

But I’d say that it *is* him regardless of whether or not he has any secrets to share. To think of someone is to reach out to them. To visualize them is to summon them. And whether they’re alive or dead, part of them can’t help but respond. 🙂

I usually realize I am dreaming and ask my loved ones questions. A couple of weeks ago I had a dream of my friend who has passed. I said “ I thought you were dead?” And he replied with “Ive always been alive”. Visitation dreams are not like the usual crazy weird dreams we tend to have.

Something to remember is that all of reality is a concoction of consciousness, so the lines may not be distinct the way your question suggests. When loved ones have visited me in dreams there’s always been a tangible aspect to it, it’s felt loving and emotive, and there’s been some kind of interaction that’s supportive and guiding.
