Alito’s decision repeatedly cites a misogynist, Sir Matthew Hale, from the 1600s who had women executed for “witchcraft. Alito cites him as proof that abortion bans are an indispensable part of our country’s heritage. Not my heritage!

This SCOTUS decision is basically “We have a history of women not having rights, so we’re taking rights away from women”. It’s fucking disgusting.

Yep, it sucks that they’re using this argument because it not only gives them a way to get rid of Roe v Wade but a lot of other things too. Possibly even our rights to own our own possessions. Interracial marriage, same sex marriage, birth control at all, etc. So much can go wrong if we let this happen.

There’s a mothers day general strike planned. No work, no shopping, till our rights are guaranteed. Some are withholding sex as well. We can also mail letters to our representatives, or coathangers. And call our representatives, and then there’s protests. Here’s a list of abortion organizations that we can support and volunteer at for anyone wanting to do more.

Please don’t panic buy emergency contraceptives right now. If you don’t have people in need that are going to use it then it could easily result in people who need it not having access.

You’re going to love this. Roe cited Hale at footnote 21. I wonder if Alito was responding to Roe.
