    hello,

recently me and my boyfriend had a discussion, and I wanted to get to the bottom of things. I got two “yes or no” readings about his past, which they both answered my question with the same answer. However, my boyfriend is telling me different.

I don’t know what to believe, and have been very anxious and scared to know the truth. This was the state I was in when I ordered my readings online.

Does this change the order of events in tarot?

The state you’re in when you ORDER doesn’t matter one bit (as in, if you’re scared when you click the button to buy an online reading, the cards aren’t going to rearrange themselves differently than if you were happy or sad or upset). The state you’re in when you RECEIVE the reading sure does. If you go to the grocery store hungry, you’re going to buy a lot of things that you wouldn’t have gotten if you were full.

Same here. If you’re anxious when you get a reading done, you’re going to see only bad things and negativity.

Lay off the readings for a bit. The reading may not hold “the truth” and you’re only going to scare yourself further.

Edit: You added some context so I’ll add my thoughts.

Are you going to trust a deck of cards, or your partner? If you aren’t able to trust your partner, you should rethink the relationship because either he’s lying and you have good reason to suspect him and he’s trash, or he’s telling the truth and you have trust issues which need to be sorted out before entering into a relationship with another person.

I’d also add that the cards are fallible. Try something yourself: flip a coin. Heads = yes, tails = no. Try something like “Is the pope Catholic?” Or “Did the sun rise today?” And you’ll see that you’re right sometimes and wrong sometimes. Neither tarot nor coin flips are good for objective questions.

I have this question often. You really have to try to detach when pulling the cards. I usually shuffle more to clear my mind.

In my experience absolutely. Anxiety clouds the mind big time and logic goes out the window. Id pay attention to reality more than the cards depending on the situation and question.

This does not sound like a good idea to me mixing trust issues tarot and anxiety together sounds like it will only cause problems and unnecessary stress. I would find another way to communicate and find answers to what is going on with the two of you.

It can definitely make it way harder to pull for yourself but it shouldnt affect an outside reader who does it for you if thats what youre asking. You may have just chosen a bad reader or they got it wrong.

A thousand times, yes. I *can* be objective with myself but I have to *be prepared* to be objective with myself.

*Do I REALLY want to know the answer to this…?*

Sometimes, if there’s a truth I’m avoiding, tarot will throw it in my face. Usually, gently at first.

But if I keep ignoring it, tarot gives me serious attitude, haha.

Anxiety and mental stress of any kind can influence a tarot reading. Ironically, I read best when I’m feeling sensual so, I pair that mood with my tarot readings.

It can do. When people are nervous it’s often harder to read them. Much easier to read for someone who is relaxed. Even better if you have rapport with them (although not too much rapport).

But it really depends how the reader is reading about you. There are ways to read well when the querent is nervous. But it is a different technique. So it pretty much depends on the reader – their experience, skill and method.
