I made my stepfather a money bowl as a favor once he saw how well mine was bringing in money to the household. But he wants to take it to his work place and wants me to put a lid on the bowl so that he can open it and close it whenever he wants. I’ve been taught that if I’m going to close a spell jar I absolutely must enclose it with candle wax, so now I’m not really sure if I should close the money bowl since it’s mostly meant to be left open.

    For transport? Yep, totally.

Tbh, you don’t need to seal everything with wax. String, glue, etc, might work as well, but you do you. You can tell him how to properly use it, but it’s ok to cover it when moving it to place to place.

    My take.

“I’ve been taught that if I’m going to close a spell jar I absolutely must enclose it with candle wax”. Not true. Wax is used to make an airtight seal to keep odors in, and moisture out. It is not always needed, and a re-used baby food jar is an example of a jar with an airtight seal. A money bowl is not a jar, and it does not need to be open or closed, except of course when adding to it. I have a money box that is closed until I open it to add to it. Seems to be working just fine.BB.P.S. The box came from a thrift store, and looks like a treasure chest that pirates might have in the movies.

In witchcraft your intention it’s the most powerful thing that you have, so yes, you can put a lid on your money bowl with no problems and plus not everyone is accepting when it comes to practices that are out of known religious so a lid is very useful to keep eavesdroppers away
