    Hi! Here’s my question!
I have always been interested in spirits, the supernatural, and everything weird and unseen. I don’t see a lot of information about witches worshipping spirits. For Example: Nature spirits, water spirits, mythical spirits, night spirits, folklore spirits, tree spirits, animal spirits, dead spirits, etc.
Since there isn’t any information I can find that says it’s okay to do so, I wanted to wait until seasoned witches gave me some wisdom. Safety first!👍
What pushed me to want to worship spirits is my connection to them, nature, and an instance of a “calling”. I felt a calling from the folklore Slavic witch named Baba Yaga. It was a true and beautiful message, she absolutely knew what I’ve been feeling lately. I feel connected to her for some reason.
Feel free to give me advice and what y’all think! Blessed be to all 🌟

You can research animism and religions like shinto.

I’m a chaos magician, so I would say go for it…

Yes my practice is based very much around the veneration and worship of nature spirits in many forms. The other day I found myself looking into a spiderweb and going into trance from the geometry, then worshipping the spider consciousness for creating such incredible portals ! So yes I relate and highly recommend. I also like to forage wild plants for spells and medicines, and when I take from nature I always give something back as an offering, which I see as a form of worship 🙂

I started extensively working with the elementals 2 years ago and honestly they don’t want to be worshipped they want to be respected as they have been here long before we have. I was always able to see them or sense them but 4 years ago my senses heightened and two years ago I decided I wanted to work with them and understand them. There are things you can do to show your gratitude but worshipping isn’t needed. I work with deities and I don’t worship them I respect them and if I ask for something I always give something in thanks Respect and love and honesty is what they look for remember they can see right through you to your core. There are some deities who can be demanding and want what they want with those use caution because there is no gray area with them

Yes, but I’d recommend more of a communing with or fellowshipping with approach instead of worship. Be receptive to them and really listen and you can develop a relationship with them. This kind of practice is what paganism grew from.

If you are interested in learning about authentic Slavic folk religion I’d highly recommend Searching For The Slavic Soul on YouTube.

Well I can’t say that I’ve had the experience you have in regard to not seeing info about the veneration of spirits as I’ve found that to be quite commonplace in witchy spaces, but yes! You can absolutely worship spirits and not just deities

In the end it all boils down to A lot of different words for basically the same thing. Nymph, spirit, faerie, etc. You definitely can worship what you identify as spirits if that is what calls to you.

I know for nature spirits, what the like most is humans who love the trees. Go out and water some plants near your house. (Not gallons and gallons, just a cupful is fine)

Archetypes from folklore can definitely be worked with. You might also find animism interesting. It’s basically an underlying philosophy or viewpoint to many nature based beliefs.

I’m into folk magic as well. I connect with spirits; I don’t worship them or deities. But give them food and drink. They help my spells.

“Spirits” is a very broad term, even within what you specified. For most of them you’re better off treating them as equals and trying to forge a mutually beneficial relationship.
