abrakadabraZzMemberWhat I want to ask is: If for example someone who uses satanic magick or vodou or something even less known such as some smaller local magick cults wants to target me and hex me, would general protection we learn about in witchcraft (such as witchbottles, circles etc) be enough to protect me? Or would I have to use protection spells from the same branch of magick to counter it?

Can protection magick protect me from specific/local magick practices?

The type of magick does not play a huge role, since it is more of a cultural thing, but based on magic and the use of energy anyway. Also, Satan is a Christian invention 🙂

GuestMay 8, 2022 at 7:04 amSatanic magic isn’t a thing. Christians believe in Satan, most witches aren’t Christian, so they don’t care about Satan. Also, both the Church of Satan and the Satanic Temple are more about atheists trolling hypocritical Christians than anything else. But yes, general protections work against any magical tradition. All protections are energy, protecting you from other energy. When in doubt I usually layer protections from various traditions to cover all energetic frequencies, if that makes sense. You never know what’s going to be thrown at you 🙂

GuestMay 8, 2022 at 7:04 amGeneral would help, but also santanist don’t do witchcraft if that’s your concern. And why would people want to hex you?

GuestMay 8, 2022 at 7:04 amThat depends on how you build your protection. I have multiple wards around my house. One is designed for spirits human and non-human one is for negative energy (hostile magick and people’s BS) and the last one is a surprise for anybody that wishes me harm.

GuestMay 8, 2022 at 7:04 amYou should be protecting yourself anyways.
And most people will just leave you alone normally. Now, if you attend groups of people you dont know, there’s sure to be some bad eggs. But they will usually invite new people and use them.
And remember, if you’re asked to be in a ritual, you can ALWAYS say no.
I went to one get-together that had people asking if they wanted to (at another meeting) do some voudoun. I was asked, and I thanked them but said no. The date happened, and a friend did attend. Some fucky shit happened, and they all felt terrible for a few weeks. Again, voudoun isn’t my area.

GuestMay 8, 2022 at 7:04 amA magickal groups magick will be stronger than just your magick (new or not). A solo practitioner doesn’t stand a chance (wards or not).
Take that how you will, but it is what it is.
A good magickal group may use several types of magick in a curse so as to confuse the hell out of someone attempting to undo the curse. There might even be traps set up within a curse to hinder the undoing of said curse. In other words, good luck.
How can you defend yourself against such attacks? Dont tangle with magickal groups (i.e. dont get into pissing contests with them). Or join a group that has an initiation, and is willing to teach actual magick based on one of the many traditions. These types of groups are typically many generations old and are very structured (stay clear of the newer groups with zero direction as they tend to be drama filled and have a less than stellar knowledge of real magickal workings).
Most magickal groups that can do actual harm usually dont care about the solo practitioner. The groups that cant do any more harm than you can with magick are the ones that will be most vocal with threats.
Good luck!!

GuestMay 8, 2022 at 7:04 amIt depends on how much protection you have. If you feel that someone has hexed you or any of your personal property, I’d suggest doing a spiritual cleansing just to be safe.
