I once told an negative spirit attached to my friend to leave, I also spoke the name of an religious figure Because I didn’t know what to do at the time, and also tried to get rid of it by cleansing it with energy. Such as banishing maybe with reiki, but I tried everything so eventually it seemed to went away? But when I tried that with an demon in the haunted house I was living in it didn’t go away by telling it to?

There are different types of entities. As you stated, you were a child in that house. Human spirits will go away if you ask them to do so, if they want to go away.
The spirit that you thought went away, may have listened and may have chosen to go away.
Stronger nonhuman or human entities may not listen to a child or a command or the request of anyone random
Reiki is not necessarily the tool set to use with strong negative entities. Reiki is about healing with energy.
I believe that you needed to have more highly trained and qualified people to evaluate and to deal with the negative entity.
As well, there are deceased humans who can imitate demonic entities. There are parasitic spirits who can mimic demonic entities. Demonic entities are rare. It would have required properly trained mediums or shamans to have made that assessment at that time.
