Shin-yoloMemberI’ve heard from my sibling that sigils can’t be reused because they lessen in power the longer you think about them/look at them/use them. I’m curious so I’d like a second opinion. I just made several and I really wanted to reuse the symbol, but I’m afraid that it won’t work now. Can someone help guide me through this?

Can you re-use sigils?

GuestMarch 9, 2022 at 4:27 amYour practice, your call. I reuse my sigils. Others use them once and never again. Both work just as fine. The only question here is what you think it’s the best method?

GuestMarch 9, 2022 at 4:27 amThe don’t re-use advice is more make a fresh one each time, don’t use the same piece of paper or whatever twice. But the same sigil can be re-drawn more than once. Some from ceremonial magick are quite old, especially the Solomon stuff. BB.

GuestMarch 9, 2022 at 4:27 amIt depends. I have one taped below my light switch so i can give it a touch as i get ready to leave my house to remind me to stick to my goals.
It also depends on if you will be adding fluids to it, so if its made of paper or an index card, youll probably not want to hold onto it since itll get gross or just fall apart.

GuestMarch 9, 2022 at 4:27 amThat’s an interesting question. I think there is some precedence that you can use them more than once. Sometimes I’ll activate a sigil but leave it somewhere I can see it so that every time I see it, it sort of reinforces it. Not quite the same but I think similar enough. Why not give it a try and see if it works? No harm in experimenting.

GuestMarch 9, 2022 at 4:27 amSome I use and destroy, some I keep. Depends on the situation.
My calm and focus is one of my keep ones. It’s something I constantly charge, but others I make for specific spells I burn.

GuestMarch 9, 2022 at 4:27 amI will reuse sigil designs, but I don’t record the original phrase used to make it. I do record what to use it for.
