I’m not sure if theory and technique is the correct flare to use with my question , but it’s the closest I saw.
I’m wanting to know about how to cleanse my deck of cards? I’m getting my first set in the mail this Tuesday and I figure that others have touched it during its manufacturing, should I cleanse prior to use? And then when and how? I’m so excited to do this. My story is long but suffice it to say I’m a seeker. My spirit has always looked for truth. As a child and teen I was surrounded by darkness. The bad kind. So any seeking I did gave me bad vibes. So I turned my seeking to church and Bible. I’ve grown so much since then and I’m in a good place and I feel like those evil or dark spirits aren’t as strong. My getting started in Tarot feels like another step on my path. I just want to start them fresh. Make sense? I am open to learning so please share!

Hey there! I’m newish to tarot but my personal view is that you can do whatever feels right to you! I don’t think there is any set way you must adhere to. Simply meditating on grounding/protection/clarity for your highest good is great in itself in my view! However if you want something more tangible, I’d try incense, sage, palo Santo and kinda waft it around your cards, space and body. Also you could use celenite and place it on your deck and set your intention etc hope that helps! Not saying that I’m correct here but this is my own personal practice 🙂

Smoking mine with frankincense (actual resin burned, not a stick or cone) helps, and I’ve had medium success with using rocks like obsidian and selenite to “scrub” it, but salt is really the most powerful. Leaving the cards with some salt in a tupperware for a few hours does it. Your cards accumulate energy through readings—the larger and more important the reading (as in, you’re reading about the fate pattern of you or another person, or on a heavy topic) the more dirt they accrue. Fresh from the factory, those are clean as a whistle.
