i got a new deck recently (ink stained tarot by @scrappaperfeelings on ig) and i’ve been trying to get more serious with my readings since i feel such a strong pull to use it.
for a while i was using a classic rider waite deck for my readings but before, while some of the readings i’ve gotten have been quite accurate, i never took cleansing very seriously. i would just pull some cards out and then quickly reshuffle them and put them away. i would cleanse it very sparingly and usually only when my friend would handle them.
for a while i felt like my readings were slowly getting more and more muddy and i took about a 6 month break from doing tarot entirely because i felt like the questions i was asking were never being fully answered/interpreted correctly.
but i ended up getting sage spray, spraying it down between every reading, clearing residual energy with a selenite wand then charging them with intent with a quartz crystal.and the difference… well it’s just amazing!
i’ve never felt this way before while doing readings. so energized and confident. i knew that i should have been doing something similar as this from the very beginning but now i can say i really learned my lesson from this one.
to experienced readers i know that have been doing tarot for a long time, this whole post might just be like a “WELL DUH!” but it’s great finally noticing the difference for myself. it could also be because i’m branching out from the typical rider waite and i found a deck that finally called to me.
i just felt like i should share my experience for people like me :), i never realized how much of a difference cleansing and charging could make.
