Readings keep telling me to ground myself in nature, meditate in nature, connect with nature, etc. i even get deity messages telling me to do that. I even got a deity confirmation with a celtic nature god. But the thing is, I don’t like to be in nature. I respect and admire nature, and I think it is important, wonderful, beautiful, etc. but I prefer to give my respects from indoors. I don’t like the feeling of sitting on grass, I don’t want to touch dirt, and I hate bugs with a passion. I don’t want to meditate outside because I know I will get distracted by the heat, the bugs, and other noises. I also do not want to go in the woods or grassy areas by myself, that is very dangerous. You never know what kind of animals or people are lurking about. I am simply not a nature person, and this is simply something I’m not willing to do. Is there some other way I can connect with nature or ground myself in it?

Getting grounded to the earth physically can be as simple as putting your bare feet in the grass and feeling the earth underneath. I’m feeling the same thing today so I’m going to find a creek and stick my feet in there.

For me, connecting with nature is more about exposing myself to the beauty of nature. Nothing boosts my meditative state like gazing at water or watching swallows fly around like little kamikaze.

I see no reason that you can’t achieve a connection to nature from the window of a clean, air conditioned room overlooking a beautiful natural place. You may even be able to do so just by LOOKING at beautiful natural images.

Wow. That was enlightening. I’m super impressed with your thoughtful and kind responses to that authors insightful yet relentless monolog towards your inquiry.

Have you considered getting a house plant?
