I read in this discussion thread that the appearance of court card(s) in regards to asking about potential situations, means that the situation/ outcome will actually never occur and instead the cards wound up giving a reading encompassing of personality traits of the querent. Do you guys believe in it?

Re: The knight of swords, it’s fast. Will it last? I don’t know. It was one card.

I read tarot my own way, as everyone should.

For me, this is the relationship I have developed with the cards over 20 years:

Page of Cups – small love offer or apology.
Page of Wands – a message
Page of Swords – spying, gathering info, sometimes studying (as in school)
Page of Pentacles – solid offer but small, whatever the offer is it has potential behind it

Knight of Cups – Wants to offer emotion/a date
Knight of Wands – In and out energy. This is the friend who stays with you for a week from out of town – just shows up on your doorstep. You have a great time and then they leave.
Knight of Swords – Fast communication. Usually don’t see it coming. Can be good or bad.
Knight of Pentacles – Super slow moving offer but it’s solid. Too slow for some people. Think of the couple that dates for 5 years before getting married. Or the guy that wants to finish school before getting engaged.

Queen of Cups – A woman open to love, but she is still careful – she is a queen, after all!
King of Cups – A man looking to give his love to a partner. He’s also careful.

Queen of Swords – Intelligent, witty, and she will cut you off if you hurt her or attempt to pull a fast one on her. She doesn’t have time for b.s. She’s been through too much and already knows the games before you play them.
King of Swords – Great at using conversation and his intelligence to persuade people. Both the Queen and King aren’t the warmest and fuzziest, but they are ride or dies if you can get in to their hearts.

Queen of Wands – Super secure and comfortable in her skin. Powerful. Passionate. This is a woman you see and go, “Wow!” She attracts attention. Not always because she’s a perfect “10”, but because she’s so confident.
King of Wands – Also confident, and a bit egotistical. Gets stuff done. He doesn’t sit around and wait. If he wants something, he goes after it. If you don’t want him, he doesn’t care. 50 other women will.

Queen of Pentacles – Stable, smart, secure. The mother and wife. This is the woman men bring home to meet their families.
King of Pentacles – Financially successful. Business owner or high up. Loves being a family man or loves his family. This man will never cheat.

A discussion is a discussion and should not put in question the whole foundational interpretations of tarot.

Most of the time, the court cards are about people, but sometimes you’re asked to embody or recognise its qualities in your readings.

Is this interpretation true in your practice ? Have you noticed situations where that happened ?
