Hi, I’ve been trying to find credible and reliable sources of information about crystals. Specifically which ones can go in water, salt water, sunlight, salt, ect. And I’ve gotten so many different answers so far that it’s driving me a little crazy. I was hoping someone here has a source they know is reliable. I’d love some book or website recommendations.

Anything ending in “ite” is not water safe if you intend to drink it. Selenite will melt in water. Amethyst will fade in the sun. Fluorite will not only fade in the sun, it will become brittle and break easily. Both can be safely charged in moonlight, or else limit their charging time in the sun to 30 mins.

Selenite and moonstone prefer to be charged in moonlight to sunlight.

Scott Cunningham’s book on crystals is great, I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to do crystal work.

This is from u/Witchthief, one of the mods, and is very good advice. This is something I’ve been looking for too. Like a crystal bible, but from a geology perspective.
