Do ghosts speak english? or is this something else?

So I heard somewhere that when you get the sudden ear ringing it might be someone trying to contact you. So I tried tuning in. i meditated and tried focusing on the sound and letting it become what it wanted to, it was like a radio station, and their voices were mixed with white noise and fried untill i managed to find what their voices sounded like. I heard first a woman then a man. they didn’t say much, just repeated the same words or sentences, they sounded in pain, desperate.

The weird part is, they spoke english. english is not my first language, and its not the language of the place i live in. 30 years ago very few people spoke english here. so I’m wondering, is it normal for ghosts to speak english? spirits? guides? or any entity? I dont know what im dealing with here since im just starting out, any advise or information would be welcomed.

This is a fascinating question and I’d love to hear from more bi- or multilingual people/polyglots. As a linguist and a medium I find it very interesting. I have connected with a few First Nations spirits who I suppose may have learned English but definitely had their own first languages. I don’t know whether they send impressions/emotions/feelings/signs and my own brain filters them into English? This feels right because I often say “it feels like they’re saying” or “I get the sense that…”
Were you hearing the English voices outside your ears or in your mind telepathically?

Spirits can speak any language they feel like. They might’ve not been English speakers when they were alive, but you heard it as English since that is a language they understand. They might not have spoken the language that is native to you. I’ve encountered this several time. I am an English only speaker, but I understand the basics of a lot of languages. I’ve talked to spirits from Sierra Leon, Brazil, Columbia, Caribbean Islands, and Ireland. All speak different languages, but my mind somehow translates it to English.
