Do you ever feel like your ability to be a medium was decided by a previous family mediums

I feel lucky to be a medium it seems that I am the only medium in my living family could it be possible my fate was decided at birth by dead family members that were mediums .

Honestly speaking anyone has the ability to be a medium but some people are just way more open than others and it’s much easier. That being said there tends to be a familial or genetic component it seems in some cases. We couldn’t figure out for the life of us why I was the only one in my family that exhibited abilities and then come to find out my maternal grandmother used to have prophetic dreams and used to be able to tell when major catastrophes and deaths were going to happen and she shut down that ability because it scared her and everybody forgot about it. I’m guessing then that I inherited something from her.

I feel like I have been a medium in many lifetimes, I have a fear of fire, unless it small, like a gas stove etc… and I think way back when they thought people that possesses any skills was a witch, and I was burned at the stake in one of my lifetimes? Mediums for me have run in the family My grandma on my Mom’s side was a medium, I feel my mother was too but she didn’t like people very well, so she didn’t want to deal with alive ones let alone dead ones, so she blocked it out, I have the gift but my sisters don’t and one of my daughters has the gift too so for us it didn’t skip generations like they say? I do think I signed up for my gift in my “Life chart” before I came down to earth? at times I think why is this happening to me? and I hear probably my spirit guide? popping in my head saying “you signed up for it”
