I’m really new to reading and I’ve had some really good readings for my friend but when it comes to myself it feels.. off? When it comes to daily pulls anyways. When I genuinely ask for insight on an issue. I get the same answer regardless how many times I ask, so it’s pretty consistent there. I don’t really know what to do here. I’m still studying the cards meanings though so it’s all a work in progress. Any advice?

Edit: what I mean by getting the same answer regardless how many times I ask. I mean that I get an accurate reading and it’s consistent. Sorry for any confusion

I think almost everyone does. I think it’s more ego and nothing wrong with using the search engine on your phone to help you decipher what you want. For me I use advice. Like what do I need to know and if the star card pops up, I search the star tarot card as advice and there should be multiple sites that pops up. Alot of looking but you’ll find one that resonates.

You just need to practise and keep track of where you are going wrong each time so that you gradually get rid of your biases. It will take quite a long time but it is possible. It is actually still fairly common for tarot readers to refuse to read for themselves due to the obstacle of bias but like many obstacles in life, this one can be overcome with perseverence and self-reflection.

Been reading 30 years, and NO ONE I’ve encountered can read for me (including me). My readings are crazy accurate for everyone else. So… The mysteries of the soul!

I do have a tough time doing readings for myself. I’m admittedly middling at best when it comes to tarot, but I notice when I read for others, it tends to be more accurate. I just don’t do it often as I am shy about the fact that I still have to look at the meaning of the cards more than half the time.

It could be because you just pulled incorrectly, as that happens, or its just you getting in your own way or second guessing. Practice pulling things you already know the answer to for yourself and then start working towards things you dont

I think that when we read for someone its for them, we have distance. But its very difficult to have that separation with personal case, where emotions comes.

In the beginning, I struggled with this too.

    But my reasons were because…

*The meaning is this…but my intuition says this…*

And I kind of…set the book to the side and focus on what my intuition picks up on.

Now, I do read the books when I get a new tarot deck, always. But I mean…if my intuition deters from that meaning, well, I’m going with my gut.

I trust myself more than I do anyone else. So maybe, listen to your intuition more and compare that to the meanings to see how your brain is putting it together?

I tend to second guess myself when I do reading on myself. But they turn out to be true.
I’m trying to teach myself to have more faith in myself.
