GuestApril 15, 2021 at 4:19 pmThanks for the responses 🙂
I asked some friends the same questions and showed them this post.
Answers;
“hahaha, so mainly most of the people say that the system will need to be recalculated when there will be a need for that
we currently take Earth as our place of birth, therefore there is not such things as Earth in your natal chart
currently the starting point of any sign and planet is Aries in 0 degrees
as it’s the first sign in the whole astrological wheel ( we’re in Aries period rn)
21st March- 20th April
from another point of universe there probably will be some changes in horizons and stuff
I somewhere has a book on a physical explanation of astrology and this whole thing from a scientific point”

Does anyone know a book about this topic?

GuestApril 15, 2021 at 4:19 pmI think it potentially depends on where in space you are. From the earth we use the ecliptic to look at the movement of planets relative to constellations along that approximate line, so if someone were close enough to Earth I’d imagine it would involve some mathematical tweaking. If other planets in our solar system possess a similar ecliptic, I imagine we’d do similar.
On a spacecraft, though, we wouldn’t likely be orbiting anything (at least not on every spacecraft) which would mean our movement relative to the bodies of space might be totally different. I wonder how it would be possible to read transits, too, if my life is lived light years from my birthplace as opposed to miles.
Very good question, and one I don’t think we’d ever be able to totally answer unless we had thousands of years with millions of births along similar spacefaring routes to study. I don’t envy whoever tries to work it out!

GuestApril 15, 2021 at 4:19 pmthe question is asked in one of the later hitchhiker’s guide books.
in reality, you’d need to study cause & effect for many years to come to conclusions as to how the planet energies affect you while not being born on earth. you could use an understanding of earth centeric astrology principles to help understand but its still gonna take generations to figure it out.

GuestApril 15, 2021 at 4:19 pmThis is such a cool post to be honest and it’s saddening that people don’t seem to be taking the question seriously because we’re honestly probably only another hundred years away from space or off-planet births and the astrology is going to have to evolve to accomodate.
I feel like there *will* be some way to equate the location of a space/off-planet birth to earth coordinates through mathematic calculation. I’m going to imagine that relative position to the lunar nodes are going to play a part. Either that or the Sun. If the spacecraft is in another system entirely, it’d have to all just be long distance approximations with your “Earth Sign” having to be equated to wherever you are relative to the Earth itself. (I wish I could explain this better, but math-brains might be able to parse what I’m venturing for here.)
I think another way it’d happen would be to come out of conversions. Converting calendar days and their positions relative to zodiacal signs into equivalents on other planets’ calendars.
As far as a spacecraft goes, I think you’re absolutely on to something that the center of mass will determine the horizon points (I’m guessing relative to where the sun is?)
I mean, at the very least, you’re probably close to figuring out what would determine a day or night chart for a space birth.
But again, I think determining the rest of the chart would just be a whole number of calculations and conversions to figure it out relative to what’s going on back on Earth.

GuestApril 15, 2021 at 4:19 pmThe center of the horoscope would represent the person or event, rather than location on the earth’s surface. Depending on spatial location inside the solar system, above or below the ecliptic, or on another planet or moon, the other planets would find themselves on the chart in relationship to the birth point.
if a person were born very far from the solar system, wouldn’t the planets find themselves clustered together in one or two houses?
seems like it would be possible to build an app for this, so we could generate hypothetical space births and attempt to interpret them. Fun!

GuestApril 15, 2021 at 4:19 pmWe’ve talked about this and have decided to do what everyone else is doing as well…
That is: using the 300+ Pulsars to geolocate yourself, like most Astronomers do, then calculate your Distance from there to place you in the correct house…
There were also discussions about relationships between the 12 *(13 if we’re counting Ophicius)* and the other constellations…
So for example… in the *DUNE* universe House Corrino is Pisces because they are on a planet orbiting γ Piscium…
