Or why is earth’s moon important but not Saturn’s moons etc?

    It does not, at present.

The creator of the Astrolog program has been working on this (I think). We can ping him and see if he is available to explain. u/CruiserOne

But, for myself, earth’s moon matters because we live on earth. I can’t really fathom what we’d do with or how much effect saturn’s moon would have. Unless you lived on saturn, hehe.

Saturn’s moons are tied to Saturn’s path across the ecliptic because they orbit saturn not the sun.

eta: If you were born on Saturn, the Moons would have their own paths and Earth’s Moon would just be tied to Earth (Terra) and you would have a Terra sign and no Luna sign

not that i’ve seen, but that would be so cool tbh if someone has or does develop a technique based on those cycles.

i imagine the rationale would be that astrology is essentially an optical technique based on what is visible, and since that’s not visible without a telescope it’s not a priority.

still many asteroids and the outer planets arent technically visible without a telescope (although some people argue that ancient vedic texts do seem to describe uranus) and almost no one would discount their applicability in natal and mundane astrology.

tldr; if you develop a study of the delineation of other planetary moons and a calculator or ephemeris to track them id sure try it out

You could theoretically. You could include any celestial body in astrology if you can access the data. I think our Moon’s proximity to us and the fact that it orbits us and is visible in our skies makes it pretty important by comparison though.

Once I learned about heliocentric astrology traditional astrology looks like a dead end.

There isn’t much point even if they are relevant symbolically. Because of the distances involved, they are basically always exactly conjunct the planet they orbit. Any relevant themes they bring are probably already wrapped up in the themes of their parent planet given the millenia of observation and astrological practice.
