I saw where someone said that because many of them used to be human they lie. Not as in contact with trickster energies but our actual guides.

I’ve been lied to before by my guides on a topic that if they had told the truth would’ve thrown a wrench in my spiritual evolution, but had another guide later spill the beans that I was actually lied to.

I think it depends on the spirit or deity, some are truthful to a fault, others bend the truth in order to assist you but like others have said it’s never out of malice.

Beings of light (as far as I know) aren’t incapable of bending the truth but they won’t lie for malicious reasons. They might not tell you things because you’re not ready for the information yet or they might convey things differently to how they actually are so it’s easier to process and understand but good spirits won’t try to deceive or trick you.

All spirits can lie. It doesn’t mean all spirits do lie, but every single one of them is capable of it. Some of them are not prone to lying, and some may be more honest than others, but there are no absolutes.

Spirits that claim they “NEVER” lie (to me) would be a little bit of a yellow flag. Spirits like secrets, so whether they can lie by omission, or deflect the conversation away from answering the question many will. Just like people, you have to be on your toes, and make sure you’re not jumping to conclusions. Pay attention to the ACTUAL message and try not to read into it. Some spirits will just let you believe a false conclusion, until you figure it out for yourself.

Unfortunately there are things we just aren’t permitted to know (being alive/in bodies). While frustrating, it’s just how it goes.

As long as you’re connecting to “all and ONLY those who have your highest good” they’re not going to trick you, but even archangels are tricksters by nature.. not necessarily in a negative way, but tricksters nonetheless.

The Ouija ones do. One told me I was going to marry Pete Peterson. Pete Peterson turned out to be an old man at my church 🤔

I wouldn’t say they “lie” in a bad way. That said, they do play with our beliefs (eg: if you believe in Santa Claus, they may say it could be a gift of Santa Claus). I once believed something false was real and they made a whole theatre around it. Once I figured out it was a lie and questioned why they played along, they claimed they wanted to see how far I’d go in that false belief (so they were testing me…). Some of them are very clever at playing with words or steering you towards an illusion, so you need to always keep your skepticism for everything. For example, I once had a case where a past life memory was “altered” by them because remembering it fully would have jeopardized my current experience. That’s because it was a memory of a test that was being repeated in this life (since I failed in a past life). Once I passed the test, they fixed my memory and apologized for messing with it. The main difference from tricksters is that their intentions are good.

I mean, they’re all *capable* of lying, but I definitely wouldn’t tolerate any guide spirit lying to me about important things. One of the guides I’m closest with did try to trick me in multiple ways as tests when I first started working with him, but I’d been warned that he does that to see if people are worthy of his training, so it was a consensual game, which is very different than malicious trickery since I had the option to say “no” to playing. Of course, spirits can also be just plain wrong or, most often, fail to accurately communicate what they’re trying to get across, but obviously none of that is malicious. Whenever a subject is complex or confusing I use the technique of rephrasing what I think they’re trying to say back to them to see if I understood correctly, which works even better with spirits than living people and clears up 99% of misunderstandings.

How do you even meet your guide?

I would absolutely question if what you are interacting with is a guide or not. Guides do not lie. If there is a question they cannot or will not answer, they don’t answer.

It is not uncommon for an individual to ask guides for information they will not or cannot provide. We see this here, a lot. They are not going to make your decisions for you. They will not tell your your future. They won’t interfere with your life path or your goals by steering you left or right. You must decide.

As well, they stay out of issues that are not their department, such as who you date, which vehicle to buy, etc.

How do you know, definitely that the beings you are interacting with, are your guides?

    Be careful, please.

I am of the belief that we all have guides that are “good” and “bad” and that it is a trick within itself to only seek out the positive guidance. Think about the angel and the devil depicted whispering in a person’s ear in literature and film. It’s not that the “bad” ones want to intentionally hurt us, but more so test us, so yes they do lie. Our time here on earth is a test. Spirit wants us to choose the right thing to do based on our previous lives and past experiences, even in this life, so they do not tell us things upfront in order to preserve our free will; rather, they present both options as a choice. Think about it, if we all had exponential answers and guidance, our lives and suffering would be completely meaningless. I would be weary of spirits who are quick to tell you all the answers, like they are definitive, as they are probably not your guides. Nothing is definitive because our choices depend on others’ choices, which we all have the autonomy to make. Many people can naturally talk to spirit and use divination tools, which is awesome, but just like you would take advice with a grain of salt from a human, do so with spirit. We are meant to discover our own divinity by realizing that we already have all of the answers within us. Trust yourself above all because truth is within you.

Trust yourself. Spirit guides may be suspect, in my opinion.
